Hello All,

To encourage as many of you as possible to take advantage of Congressman Jim
Bridenstine's offer to meet with scouts and submit their Citizenship in the
Nation letters to him directly, I will cancel tonight's meeting. We will
pick up again next Monday at our regular time and place. All boys who have
not completed this portion of the merit badge should do so. If you don't
know what needs to be written, see here.

1.	Name your two senators and the member of Congress from your
congressional district. Write a letter about a national issue and send it to
one of these elected officials, sharing your view with him or her. Show your
letter and any response you receive to your counselor.

Just keep a copy of the letter to show your counselor. Boys should be in
their Class A full uniform.

A message from Eagle Sr. District Executive, Joe Lopez:

Scouts and Scouters,

On Oct. 21, 6:30 pm at the Mabee Center, Representative Jim Bridenstine will
be conducting a Securing America Town Hall meeting. It is free and open to
the public and you and your Scouts are invited.

As an Eagle Scout, Congressman Bridenstine is aware of the civic
requirements that are part of a Scouts advancement and merit badge programs.

Because of this, the Congressman would like to meet with the Boy Scouts and
help them earn a merit badge. Refreshments will be provided. The reception
will start around 8:15 pm and last until 8:45 pm.

During the Town Hall, floor seats will be sectioned off for the Boy Scouts
to sit together. After the Town Hall, the Scouts will go up to the Mezzanine
(there will be directional signs). In order to attend the reception, Scouts
should wear their uniform or a Cub Scout/Boy Scout shirt.

Please note that topics will cover matters regarding both domestic and
foreign policy.

The Congressman has personally stated that he is more than happy to assist
our Scouts with their rank and merit badge advancements. He encourages
Scouts to bring letters that are required for Citizenship in the Nation pre
written and any relevant questions pertaining to other advancement based
requirements. Please take advantage of this opportunity.

Thank you,

Joseph Lopez | Sr. District Executive
