I will be passing out information regarding the balance of your Scout?s Troop Account (money raised through popcorn sales, Camp Cards, etc.) at the meeting next Monday.  Keep in mind that you can use scout account funds to cover the cost of camp.

We have a need for adult leaders for next weekend?s campout. As of last Monday, we had two adults committed, but that isn?t enough to make the Trappers campout work.
Don is unable to attend this campout, so we are in need of willing helpers.

For those new Scout parents, this is not a typical campout for the boys. 
This event has been around for years and years. It is so popular there were close to 7000 people in attendance last year. It is so cool that they even have their own Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/TrappersRendezvous
There are lots of Mountain Man and pioneer exhibits, troops from all over this part of the country, and lots of trading! The boys love bringing their animal pelts, bones, knives, camping knick knacks, unused ?boy? stuff from their closet, and trading up with other scouts for that treasure that awaits!

Good news: Typically the weather in Kanas in January is bitter cold, but this weekends forecast is NICE! (close to 50 degrees expected)  
More good news: It is a ton of fun and the boys list it as one of their favorites

If we leave at our normal time, it will put us at the campground at around 10:00pm. It is not easy to stake a campsite among 7000 people in the dark. So, one of the adults ought to drive up early and find a spot for us to camp. That takes one adult out of the transportation, so the other adult can?t take all of the boys.

If you can arrange to come, please do so. It is very worth it. 

We will be taking head counts on Monday night and figuring out transportation and food. Please message me if you are planning on coming.

Great news everyone. We've won a 2016 12-day Expedition slot to Philmont  Scout Ranch. The Trek will begin Monday June 13th, 2016 and go thru Friday June 24th, 2016. We will probably leave from the Church Saturday the 11th, TBD later. We have to pay our $100.00 deposit By the 30th of this month. So please if you can, bring that tonight or next Monday if you want to go. The 26th would be the absolute latest as we would be pushing to get the money sent out in time. If they don't get our deposit, we lose our slot. So please bring your deposit as soon as possible. Thanks.

We are meeting at 5:30PM Thursday to load the trailer for this weekend's Trappers campout. 

Please come to help and bring any gear that you can pack that you won't need while traveling on Friday. 

It will only take about 30 minutes if everyone pitches in to help.

Venture Crew,
There will be no Venture Crew meeting tonight as I will not be able to make it to the meeting. Feeling under the weather. So, we will do it next week,right after the Troop opening. Scouts 14 and older are encouraged to attend. Plus one other adult leader or adult over 21.
Philmont,
If you are going to Philmont in 2016, Arrival date June 13th 2016 thru June 24th 2016, please try to get your $100.00 deposit turn in ASAP. Thanks.
